Monitor Audio

Monitor Audio launched the long awaited Platinum PL Series II range of loudspeakers to the public, the only previous showing for the New Platinum range had been in January at this years CES show in Las Vegas, were they had won The Stars of CES Awards, presented by What Hi-Fi?
Situated well away on the 10th floor from all the hustle and bustle of the show area, Monitor Audio demonstrated the new flagship PL 500 loudspeaker (£15K)by invitation only. The demonstrations were conducted at 30 minute intervals to audiences of nine people. A short introduction of approximately 10 minutes was given to the total redesign of the Platinum loudspeakers, with a hands on look at all the key new drive units. You needed to be a strongman to lift the 8* bass driver assembly of the PL300 and 500 loudspeakers! A selection of high resolution files were then played covering a wide rang of musical tastes for the next 30 minutes. The level between tracks was very closely matched so as to show the speakers performance across the frequency range. Static examples of PL100, 200 & 300 were on display. The attention to detail and the quality of Finnish is even greater than the highly acclaimed mkI series.

We have already placed an order for our Demonstration Stock of: PL 100 mkII, PL 200 mkII, PL 300 mkII and PL 500 mkII, we expect these new models to arrive in store over the next couple of months. Click
