Debut Carbon DC £299.00
DEBCARB
The original Pro-Ject Debut was released in the late 1990’s during a time when CD was king, and the vinyl format was presumed to be all but gone. But well over a decade later the model still stands, and it deserves a key accreditation in the ongoing success of a rejuvenated vinyl and budget turntable market. The Debut symbolises all that is good about the vinyl market; it is easy to set-up and fantastic to listen to, with the right mixture of user-friendliness and opportunity to tweak and upgrade.

At the beginning of 2012, the new Debut Carbon expands on the Debut III in a variety of ways; namely the inclusion of an 8.6" carbon fibre tonearm, 12" platter and rear-mounted junction box. The new motor isolation system also utilises a wholly unique rubber compound developed exclusively by Ortofon A/S to offer dramatically reduced resonance transference from motor.

Now 2 years on the Debut Carbon DC benefits from an upgraded new DC power supply with ultra precision frequency DC-driven AC generator (matching the one used in the Pro-Ject Speed Box) for precision speed stability. The new DC model also prospers from the upgrade by using less power in operation and when not in use.

The new 9V AC motor upgrade also comes with an improved TPE motor suspension. This new suspension reduces vibration caused by the motor and is normally found on improved turntables such as the Pro-Ject Xpression Carbon UKX.

The Debut Carbon DC also sees the re-introduction of the Debut's famous colours! Not only is the Debut Carbon DC available in the gloss black finish as standard, but for the same cost you can also choose to have a statement-making Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, White, Purple or Light Grey gloss finish.

Key Features:

New DC power supply with ultra precision frequency DC-driven AC generator (like the Speed Box) for ultimate speed stability
New TPE motor suspension
8.6" one-piece carbon fibre tonearm, adding stiffness and reducing resonance around the pick-up cartridge (rarely found on budget turntables, due to high production costs).
High-quality counterweight - helping further reduce unwanted resonance.
Two isolation 'feet' made especially by Ortofon A/S, used to decouple the motor from the plinth.
12" platter.
Junction box installed, allowing for the easy upgrade of turntable interconnects.
Factory-fitted Ortofon 2m Red.
Various gloss-coloured finishes available.

Debut Carbon Evo £499.00

The Debut Carbon EVO is a premium, manual turntable designed to deliver a first-class audio performance with true high-end credentials from an affordable package that’s aesthetically capable of taking centre-stage in any home. Taking its name from the multi-award winning Debut Carbon turntable, the Debut Carbon EVO expands on its predecessor's features, finishes and technical abilities thanks to newly developed engineering capabilities.

At the centre of the Debut Carbon EVO’s design is its 8.6” one-piece carbon fibre tonearm. Chosen for its optimal acoustic properties, carbon fibre is rarely found on turntables below £500, allowing the Debut Carbon EVO to stand apart from the competition as a special proposition. In combination with the pre-mounted Ortofon 2M Red moving magnet cartridge, special sapphire bearings, high-purity copper internal tonearm wiring and shielded termination box, the tonearm system delivers a true high-end sound quality with a detailed sound presentation that conveys every musical emotion.

Structurally, the Debut Carbon EVO is most recognised by its expertly finished main chassis, available in nine elegant finish options. The traditional rectangular footprint has a timeless minimalism, and is made of MDF for its excellent anti-resonant properties, and this tendency to minimal vibrations continues throughout the Debut design.

The in-house designed and manufactured AC drive motor is made to fine tolerances for minimal noise, but to further eliminate any potential interference the motor is decoupled from the main chassis by a new mounting plate with TPE-damping. The mounting plate isolates the motor while still keeping it perfectly level with the sub-platter drive system for absolute speed stability. The turntable plinth also sits on three height-adjustable aluminium feet with TPE-damping to ensure an absolutely stable platform with good isolation from the shelf it is placed upon.

Out of the box, the Debut Carbon EVO is capable of playing 33, 45 and 78 RPM records. The new speed control solution is implemented in a highly intuitive fashion using a three-position rocker switch (33 – OFF – 45). For precise speed at 78 RPM, a separate drive-belt is included. As well as bringing convenience to the overall design, the speed control system also ensures the motor rotation is electronically regulated for absolute accuracy and stability.

The motor drives a sub-platter system for a more elegant overall aesthetic. The sub-platter is mounted into a precision-engineered stainless steel main bearing with bronze bushing. The sub-platter sits beneath the heavy main steel platter with TPE damping. This proven drive system experiences minimal friction and allows for excellent technical measurements and unrivalled speed stability.

The Debut Carbon Evo is a truly accomplished turntable with audiophile credibility throughout. With nine finishes to choose from, there is something to suit any home environment – allowing your passion for vinyl music to take centre stage. Finished with a removable, hinged dust cover and supplied as standard with Pro-Ject’s semi-balanced, low-capacitance, shielded, turntable-ready Connect-IT E phono cables and an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge pre-installed, the Debut Carbon Evo is the worthy evolution of an audio icon, guaranteed to delight and amaze all who encounter it.

Debut Carbon RecordMaster Hi-Res £649 or £699 in Walnut

DSD Hi-Res

What sets the Debut RecordMaster Hi-Res apart from other USB turntables is its ultra-modern, highly sophisticated built-in phono stage and Analogue-Digital Converter (ADC). Designed for premium Moving Magnet (MM) cartridges, the integrated phono stage is coupled to a high-end Burr Brown PCM1084 ADC with USB and Optical outputs. When connecting the turntable to a computer via USB, it's possible to rip your vinyl collection into true Hi-Res Audio (up-to 24-bit / 192kHz) or 11.2MHz DSD (DSD256) digital audio files. Using a suitable PC application, like the supplied Vinyl Studio Lite program, it's easy to rip, edit and store tracks on a compatible PC or Laptop, thus preserving your precious vinyl and gaining you access to unique recordings of your favourite vinyl records.

Elsewhere in its design, the Debut Carbon RecordMaster Hi-Res boasts all the audiophile benefits of the popular Debut Carbon Esprit SB turntable. From the premium 8.6" carbon fibre tonearm with pre-mounted Ortofon 2M Red cartridge, through the acrylic platter and on-to the low-noise, low-vibration synchronous motor with convenient electronic speed control built-in, this is a luxury turntable in the true hi-fi tradition. For added convenience, and for the option to digitally record old analogue tapes, there's also an additional Line input on the back panel. The Optical output is ideal for connecting to digital audio systems, or for times when you want to run longer cables between your system and turntable.

Available in two luxury finishes, including a striking matt walnut wood, the Debut Carbon RecordMaster Hi-Res is a must-consider turntable for anyone who wants convenience and quality when recording their vinyl.
