B&W or to be correct Bowers and Wilkins, are one of the Worlds top loudspeaker manufacturers.

Established in 1966 by John Bowers and Peter Hayward as B&W Electronics with the aim to perform research into the quest for the perfect loudspeaker. Throughout their history B&W have enjoyed a close relationship with recording engineers. Providing B&W with valuable feedback on how loudspeakers could be improved. A result of this was the launch in 1979 of B&W’s famous 801 loudspeaker, which soon became the reference speaker used in the majority of the Worlds classical recording studios including EMI Abbey Road, Decca and Deutsche Gramophone. The original 801’s live on today in B&W’s flagship 800 Series loudspeakers.
In the 1980’s B&W established a dedicated Research Centre. One of the most amazing products to come from this dedicated research centre was the famous Nautilus loudspeaker. Launched in 1993 this innovative “snail like” loudspeaker became one of the British products accorded a Millennium Award. This money no object design has resulted in the innovations and technological advances being “trickled down” to the lower products within their range.
